🧡 The Kind Redundancies Playbook 🧡
We recognise that for our brilliant community (and companies and leaders everywhere) making redundancies is one of the worst parts of anybody’s remit as employers. We also recognise the devastating impact this can have for team members.
So, we’ve created this document that is intended to be helpful + practical for anyone going through the process of making team members’ redundant - whether it’s 1 person or 100 people!
When faced with redundancies, we believe passionately that:
✅ Process matters - taking the time to ensure fairness as well as just legal compliance will always, always be worth it
🗣 Intentionally creating space for your team to ask questions is key
🙏 Leavers should be given recognition and the opportunity to say goodbye (if they want to)
🤷♀️ Uncertainty drives anxiety - and comms gaps need to be filled, effectively and proactively
🧡 Demonstrating your consideration for the wellbeing of all involved, is kindness.
And we don’t believe that difficult decisions have to be unkind ones.
