While working in an investment bank in the City, financier and former racing driver Bo van Langeveld noticed a pattern of employees removing their shoes when the working day was done in favour of putting on something more comfortable.

It seemed there was a significant need for a smart yet comfortable shoe. Around the same time, fellow London Business School graduate Allan Baudoin left his job at Apple to learn the art of bespoke shoemaking. The two came together, and Baudoin & Lange was born: a British artisanal shoemaker for men and women that cooly strikes the balance between style and comfort, revisiting traditional shoemaking techniques with creative, contemporary flair. 

The Challenge 

As first-time founders with no previous exposure to leading on culture, Bo & Allan were looking for support in two main areas... 

  • holistic support across all things People & Culture, putting the right practices in place to scale. 
  • leadership coaching to help Bo & Allan define their individual roles + provide effective leadership for the team. 

The Solution

Working with Baudoin & Lange 4 days per month for 12 months, Unleashed delivered a full Discovery, built a prioritised roadmap tailored the needs of the business, and delivered the roadmap to ensure speedy + successful scaling. 

Areas of focus included effective goal setting, cross-functional collaboration, embedding a strategic approach to recruitment, and providing daily coaching + support to the founders to scope + scale an effective working culture, fit for business growth. This included supporting both Head Office and retail locations.
